My Week with Sproutonline.com: We Need You!

One of the things Sprout's continuity links were all about was that they asked viewers to send in content they might see on TV. This was inspired by children’s shows that did the same (mainly ZOOM).

Let's start with The Sunny Side Up Show, which included a boatload of viewer-submitted content. The hosts encouraged viewers to send in birthday cards and wishes (this was an element carried over from The Birthday Show), photos, messages, artwork (which was shown during Play with Me Sesame), "Good Egg Awards," and Dress Chica, Barnyard Boogie, and Sproutlet Stories games.

In the early years, segments sent in by viewers were called "Farm Talk" and later "Send to Chica."

Viewer-submitted content was also the main attraction of The Sprout Sharing Show. Viewers were encouraged to send in videos of them doing their best talents and artwork that may come to life on its website and see them on TV. The videos then became a part of Sprout Control Room in 2014.

On Wiggly Waffle, viewers were encouraged to send in videos of them singing Wiggles songs, pick their favorite Sprout songs ("Juicebox Pick"), and Fifth Wiggle games.

Now for The Good Night Show. The only viewer-submitted content GNS had was viewer artwork, which has been a part of the block from 2005 to 2011.

Here's a question. Did you ever send in anything to Sprout? And did it air on TV? Let me know in the comments below!
