Dear friends, today is the day Children of the 2000s, 2010s, and even late 90s cry. Not only the loss of one show, but the death of the memories it created. The memories that they made and kept with them to this day, for it was Caillou that made us who joined him on his adventures who we are today.
I grew up watching Caillou, and how I agonize over how to thank him for those memories. Perhaps, with a chocolate cake for him, his friends, Gilbert, and Rosie. Or perhaps, a musical performance for him and his friends and family. But all that was dashed, as after 20 years, PBS' broadcasting rights to the show finally reached their expiration date. The show left Universal Kids (formerly Sprout) after 13 years on March 31, 2019. But the time for sorrow passed. Don't worry, you can still watch on Amazon Prime, YouTube, or a DVD.
UPDATE: The show is coming to Cartoon Network as part of its Cartoonito preschool block. However, many people are unhappy with the decision.
