All About The Let's Go Show

Madeline Fretz - I’ve talked about the other blocks in posts about them before, but not this one. Behold … The Let's Go Show. It premiered on Sprout on June 25th, 2007, running from 3PM to 6PM ET. On May 5th, 2008, The Sprout Sharing Show premiered and the block moved to weekend mornings, airing from 6AM to 9AM ET and 9AM to 12PM ET. In September 2010, Sprout celebrated its 5th anniversary by letting The Sunny Side Up Show broadcast live every day including on weekends, renovating the set, and introducing a new show - Noodle and Doodle. Due to this, The Let's Go Show dissolved.

The block was announced on day one (May 7, 2007) of NCTA in Las Vegas (source), and was filmed in Wallace Film Studios in Toronto, Canada (source).

In this blog's early days, I wrote a post detailing how much I hate The Let's Go Show. I decided now I should do a better post, also about The Let's Go Show, but better and more about the block than my opinions, but still about both. Did you know The Let's Go Show remained up on SproutOnline.com even with the site refresh in 2011, and was removed in 2013, never to be seen again … or did Banjo? Her puppet was recycled as Meeka on Sprout Control Room, which launched in 2014.

In the block, host Miles (Milton Barnes) and a dog puppet co-host named Banjo (Ali Eisner) would drive Carla, a cardboard car and go places. On the way, they would sing songs, do science experiments ("Discoveries"), and make recipes related to where they were going today. The block aired a few shows, including Franny's Feet, Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies, Dragon Tales, Dive Olly Dive, Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, Roary the Racing CarAngelina Ballerina, and Panwapa.

Sprout described the block as:

"The Let's Go Show encourages preschoolers to ask questions, be curious about the world around them and participate in a daily musical adventure. Host Miles and his puppy friend Banjo, an adorable and spirited puppet who loves to play her homemade banjo, embark each afternoon on a musical journey. Miles loves to sing, discover new things and connect with viewers to help them learn through humor, music and interactive play."
