Madeline Fretz -
Get Ready, get set for the Nurdle song,
Just grab a brush and sing along!
All you need to do is dance with me,
A little dab of toothpaste the size of a pea.
Just start at the top on your favorite side,
Brush inside and out where the food might hide.
Do the top and bottom, left side and right,
Every tooth is clean and bright!
Brush, Brush, Brush, Brush, Brush Around,
Every last bit of food is gonna be found!
Now there's only one thing left to do,
Before our durdle dance is through.
Take a sip of water, swish it around,
Then spit it out, what a silly sound!
We brushed, we rinsed, we spit and now we're done!
That's why our Nurdle Durdle Dance is so much fun!
...Or so went the lyrics of this little jingle from Aquafresh that aired during The Good Night Show on Sprout from 2011 to 2013. "The Nurdle Durdle" starred three CGI toothpaste nurdles named Billy, Lily, and Milky who lived inside a little girl's cupboard. Whenever the nurdles would hear the sound of the "Bristle Whistle," they would sing this song, accompanied by real kids, and go to bed. On Sprout, the Durdle Dance would air before "Ready for Bed" and after the final Good Night Show link.
The Durdle Dance is obviously an American version of the "Nurdle Schmurdle," which aired on the UK channel Cartoonito in 2008 to promote Aquafresh's Milk Teeth toothpaste, except THOSE Nurdles lived in a shoe.
The "Nurdle Durdle" song was also in Aquafresh's Brush Time song, albeit with new lyrics.
A quick clip of the Nurdle Durdle was seen in a Sprout sizzle reel from 2012.
Once the ad stopped airing on Sprout, the song played instrumentally in Sprout Control Room segments (no, seriously).
