The history of The Goodnight Garden

Madeline Fretz - From Seasons 1 to 5, The Goodnight Garden was the central location of The Good Night Show.

Judging from these two BTS pictures and the first generation opening, The Goodnight Garden was inside a parrot cage, on the same tree as the birthday cake where The Birthday Show took place. The tree was also in the Sprout Diner intro. Leo's episodes from 2006 supposedly took place outside the cage. The Garden, located somewhere in the Hills of Sprout, was filled with blankets on the ground.

Originally, The Good Night Show was filmed in Paulsboro, and then in Philadelphia. Despite Sprout moving to the Big Apple in 2014, Good Night would still film in Center City, and Season 8 was produced by Center City Film and Video.

Kelly Vrooman and Sprout's Smart Summer winner Ian Piet by Melanie's chair and Moonbeam Wheel in 2009.

In the first two seasons, the show took place on a blue chair in the Garden and was hosted by Melanie (and you all know what happened to her). After 2006, the chair was displayed in the Sprout floor of the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, along with the Moonbeam Wheel.

After the Melanie PSA scandal, Sprout launched a worldwide search to find a new Goodnight Guide. Eventually, actress Michele Lepe won the role of Nina, who debuted in Season 3 (or 1, if we're not counting Melanie and Leo's tenures). Season 3 introduced a blue crescent moon-shaped couch, Nina and Star's gathering place.

For Season 6, The Goodnight Garden was replaced by The You and Me Tree as the central location, but would still be featured in segments such as Real Kids and Sprout Stretches. The original moon couch was also displayed in the Sprout floor of the Comcast Center.

The blankets on the ground were removed by Season 8.
